We absolutely love all of our members and cherish every relationship we have! Apparently, they kind of dig us too... check out what they have to say about us here.
“I have competed in 3 marathons over the last few years and I can say Styles Group Fitness is the best place a marathoner in Richmond could cross train. Other programs just don’t compare and I can’t imagine training another season without them! I joined SGF last year and after training with them this last season, I can see dramatic results in my running. Many runners want to cross train, but don’t know how or where…. not anymore! This is the place. I recommend this program time and time again to every runner I know. Everyone should try it! It will change your running forever” – Greta Kidd, Marathoner & Mother
I have been running races for years. My training hit a plateau about a year ago and I have been “okay” with my race times since. I joined Styles Group Fitness less than a month ago and had attended only five sessions before running an 8k one weekend. Much to my surprise, I ended up setting a personal record. Other than joining Styles Group Fitness, I hadn’t changed anything about my training so I knew that I could credit Styles for my personal accomplishment. It only took a few short weeks for me to see improvements in my strength, stamina and confidence. I look forward to my next race after having even more Styles sessions under my belt! – Kim Wood, 10K Coach
Although I have worked out most of my life and consider myself to be “athletic”….there has always been a “missing link”…I knew I needed something more but wasn’t sure how to get it. STYLES GROUP FITNESS came along and after just a few workouts, I knew this was just what I needed. The coaches learn your limits and know how to push you just a little bit harder to help you get stronger. Making the commitment to 3 days a week helps me to stay focused. I can honestly say, even if I had a bad day or just felt crummy going into a workout…I left feeling fantastic!! SGF workouts are different each day. I have learned to work out muscles I never knew I had….My goal in joining SGF was to become more fit (harder than it sounds as I creep nearer to 50)…..and also to be accountable to a workout plan. No need to go at it alone! Autumn truly cares about each and every one of the SGF ladies. She knows our strengths and weaknesses. I love it that she will push me to try a heavier weight, to go faster, or to push myself harder….It’s virtually impossible to push yourself as hard as a coach will….as for that I am grateful….and see results! My favorite workout is the “Tabatas”…( circuits of 20 sec with 10 sec rest/6 reps of each exercise). Everyday includes cardio and a full body workout. After 5 months at SGF, I am more toned and the arms, legs and core and have much better endurance. Styles Group Fitness is a dream come true….I encourage anone even remotely curious to take advantage of the “2 week free trial”….You’ve got nothing to lose….. I’M HOOKED! – Brenda Yingling, SGF Raleigh
Due to my very busy lifestyle, I stopped working out and started eating a lot of fast food in the car on my way to and from meetings about two years ago. Last year it finally caught up with me and I found myself buying new clothes to cover up the added weight. I struggled for months with what to do about this, and finally I made a commitment to stop putting myself last and to make time to workout and eat properly. I knew that there was no way that I could do this on my own, but I did not want to get a personal trainer because of the expense. Then incredibly I was introduced to Autumn through a networking group. I attended the open house for Styles Group Fitness and I took advantage of a free two week trial. I was hooked instantly! This type of workout is exactly what I need to stay motivated and challenged. The small group size makes it feel like you are having a private session with a personal trainer, but the group sizes are so small that it helps keep you accountable because everyone is counting on you to be there. I have been a member of Styles Group Fitness for four months and I have already gone down two pant sizes. I’m wearing jeans and tops that I haven’t been able to wear in over a year! Autumn has been an awesome source of support. She has helped us by suggesting easy changes to our diets to boost our weight loss, she’s informed us of supplements and shakes that we can take to increase our lean muscle mass, and she’s motivated many of us to participate in the weekly run club, triathalons, dragon boat races, and other awesome stuff that we would never have dreamt of before! Emily has also been extremely motivating and fun to workout with. Between both the coaches I’ve never had the same workout in four months!! I highly recommend Styles Group Fitness to anyone that is ready to make a permanent, fulfilling change in their life. – Angie Caroo, Small Business Owner & SGF Raleigh Member
I work out three times a week at 5 a.m. (and, yes. Getting up at 4:30 a.m. is easier than it sounds, believe it or not). I’m home by 6:15 a.m., energized and ready to go. My stamina’s up; my stress is down. I’ve dropped pounds and have toned up enough that I’m fitting into clothes I haven’t gotten into in a couple years! If you want to be chained to a treadmill and stare at a brick wall for an hour, Styles is NOT the place for you. But, if you want to be physically challenged by some great trainers and work out with some really great women and make some crazy moves in a gorgeous studio, then you need to give it a try! I’m glad I did. -Cheryl Shanahan, SGF Richmond Member”

Whitney founded Styles Group Fitness in summer 2009 and has since grown the company into three phenomenal communities in Richmond and Raleigh. She grew up playing soccer, field hockey, and rode for the Equestrian Team while at Virginia Tech. When she isn’t in the gym coaching members, she is out running, cycling, swimming, or hanging with her ridiculously large family.
Melyssa grew up in a north Carolina beach town playing soccer and dabbling in gymnastics. Freshmen year while at NCSU, she started yoga and functional group classes in several Raleigh gyms. Melyssa loves intense circuits with the TRX and kettle bells. She’s also an animal nut and loves to cook…and eat.
